10 Year Reunion

On Saturday (09/27/08) I had my 10 year class reunion. We started with a family picnic on Saturday at Arbuckle Acres park. There were about 15 classmates who came with their families. It was fun to meet everyones children and of course introduce ours!

On Saturday evening we went to the American Legion for dinner, drinks, and a little dancing. I really enjoyed myself, more than I expected. It is hard to believe that time has passed so quickly, and realize that we really are grown-ups! Thanks to Meemaw & Peepaw for watching the three kids!

Goal!

On Saturday (09/27/08) Austin scored his first soccer goal! Daddy was coaching and Mommy, Meemaw, Peepaw, & Elizabeth were cheering on the side! Austin has really improved his soccer skills in just a few short weeks ... during the first game, four weeks ago he was Tarzan and didn't even notice that there was a soccer ball and this week he actively kicked the ball and followed (most) of the game! Unfortunately I did not capture this milestone on film!

Homecoming Parade

On Friday evening we attended the Bulldogs Homecoming Parade! The kids had a great time.

Austin assumed his usual position of holding his ears, but he was excited to see everything.

Brayden was a wonderful big brother and collected candy for Austin until the band and firetrucks (noise-makers) had gone by. It was very sweet and Ryan and I were so proud to see the brotherly love! Elizabeth did great, she enjoyed the whole parade from the comfort of her stroller!

Oh, and Brayden like the cheerleaders!

Four!

So hard to believe but our baby boy is FOUR!

On September 13, 2004 we welcomed Austin Ryan Jay into our family, and he has been a joy! My water broke at 9:45 am and my first thought was to call my mom, which Ryan quickly corrected and told me to call the doctor. They had me come to the office, which I did after I got a shower and fresh makeup! The doctor saw us at the office (I think the didn't really believe me that my water had broken, I was a little too calm) he quickly sent us to the hospital. We arrived at St. Vincent Carmel at approximately 1:00 pm and I was 5 cm dilated and still feeling great. I had a very calm and restful afternoon, watched the premier of Oprah (when she gave away all of the cars) and then started pushing. After a little screaming (okay maybe a lot) we welcomed our baby boy at 7:20 pm, 7 lbs 7 oz, 2o inches long.

Austin decided to have a Curious George party this year. As per tradition we had the party at Williams Park in Brownsburg. It was a fun and relaxing party. Austin enjoyed his friends, and is having a great time with all of his new toys!

We are so proud of you Austin, and words can't describe our love for you! You are a true blessing from God!

Under The Big Top!

On Friday night (09/05/08) we took Austin and Elizabeth to Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey Circus at Conseco Field House. Austin had the time of his life! We have been to many other live performances, and Austin usually sits quietly taking it all in, and then once in the car tells us how much he loved it ... this was different ... he had a smile on his face from the time he saw the first of ten elephants until the lights went down! It was a wonderful memory!

Unfortunately Elizabeth was miserable. She started fussing 20 minutes in which soon turned to screaming, which lasted through the entire night. We learned the next morning that she had a raging ear infection. (At least she was happy before the show started!)

Labor Day Weekend

We enjoyed another wonderful weekend at the lake! Labor Day weekend is bitter sweet, as it marks the end of the lake season for most. Austin has developed very special friendships with many of his "lake" friends and wanted to have his birthday party at the lake this year (although he will still be having one at home with family and friends). On Saturday night the neighbors made popcorn over a fire in an iron pot and on Sunday night we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores! Oh we will miss the days at the lake, especially on the cold winter days! We had a great time, and we are truly blessed with wonderful "lake" friends and neighbors!
